The lasting memories I have of Olive include seeing her week after week for many years running the Sunday School single handed, as the Sunday School Superintendent at Mile End.
All the amazing exotic fruit trees that were in her garden at Thebarton; pomegranates, loquats, almonds, mulberries, grapes..
Walking around to her place most weeks to sit and watch the Addams family on her television.
The goldfish pond out the front of her place with its frog ornaments, which as a little boy I found most intriguing. I still have those ornamental frogs at home to remind me of the times we visited her.
The overseas trips she frequently took, returning home with little souvenirs and gifts each time.
None of these memories will fade. She was the organist at our wedding, and demonstrated the musical ability in the family which our own children have inherited.
Olive was always a loved and adored part of our family and the few little items we have of hers, including many photos, we will always cherish.
